Young Picassos Thrive at Greenpoint YMCA Art Camp

Children participating in the Greenpoint YMCA’s Art Camp this summer presented their work at an exhibit on August 4th held at the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union. Over the course of the summer, campers have been working with art professionals through the Nowodworski Foundation SITE Program learning the fundamentals of painting and printmaking. Starting with basic concepts of line and color, the children built upon their skills each week and created stunning pieces for the show. The Nowodworski Foundation’s Art Director, Kinga Lesniak, also had the children work together to create a piece at the show. Ms. Lesniak presented a beautiful framed landscape to the Greenpoint YMCA’s Senior Program Director, Tammea Tyler, at the show and expressed her gratitude to Ms. Tyler and the Greenpoint YMCA for helping to make the summer program possible.
