Greenpoint’s own Susan Anderson, Chair of community organization Town Square Inc., was honored by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz last Thursday at the 2009 Women’s Herstory Induction Ceremony at Borough Hall.
Among the six women honored, Anderson received the Lucy Burns Activist Award for her unflinching dedication to the North Brooklyn community.
“It’s all about your vision and the purpose and conviction you bring to it,” Anderson said of the work she does. “Our happiness can only be secured by the community around you.”
The other women honored were Susan Feldman, who received the Betty Smith Arts Award; Pamela E. Green, who received the Shirley Chishlom Leadership Award; Monique Greenwood, who received the Emily Roebling Business Award; and Dr. Nicoletta Pallotta, who received the Lady Deborah Moody Founders Award.
