ASSAULTS

Broadway
During an argument a group of young men attacked a young girl. One of the young men slashed the girl with a black knife after brandishing it. The group then ran away. The young man who had the knife, however, was caught and arrested despite his attempts to resist the police officers by flailing his arms and injuring the arresting officer’s elbow.

Berry Street
Two teenage boys were attacked by a large group of older boys when they were walking at around 8:20 pm. The attackers hit one boy on the head and leg with a metal pipe and slashed the other boy’s back and arm. The attackers then fled the scene. The injured boys were taken to Woodhull and Bellevue hospitals. No arrests have been made.

An acquaintance came up to a young woman and said, “I am calling you out in front of everyone and I want to fight you.” Then the acquaintance punched the young woman in the face, damaging her teeth. No arrests have been made.

Leonard Street
A 14-year-old boy’s mother threw a glass bottle at him during an argument. The bottle broke and cut his arm. She then said she’s going to get a knife. The boy ran to his classmate’s house and stayed there overnight. He refused to return home. The next day the school’s guidance counselor called the police. No arrests have been made.

Scholes Street
During early afternoon, a 13-year-old boy was attacked by a group of older boys who hit him with canes and punched and kicked him. No arrests have been made.

S 2nd Street
Around 10:35 three gangsters got out of an SUV and approached a young man who was walking. One of them said, “Yo, I’m a blood.” When the young man said he is not, the gangster cut him with a razorblade and struck him on the head with a metal pipe. The gangsters then got into the SUV and drove off. The young man was taken to Woodhull Hospital. No arrests have been made.

S 4th Street
Ten minutes earlier, a group of thugs attacked a young man, stabbing him seven times before running away. Two of the 16-year-old thugs were arrested.

Rutledge Street
A man saw a burglar walk through the front gate of his house and disappear into his basement. He promptly ran over to his neighbor’s house and together they went to the basement. They saw the burglar rummaging through the closet. They yelled out and the burglar ran out of the basement without taking anything. No arrests have been made.

Flushing Avenue
A woman noticed $1,200 missing from her apartment after she let her homeless nephew use her shower. No arrests have been made.

Ross Street
A burglar broke into an apartment through the basement at 4:40 am and was looking through the dresser in the bedroom, when a woman woke up and yelled out. The burglar ran out with $1,000. No arrests have been made.

Grand Street
Burglars broke into a parked car and stole a handbag. No arrests have been made.

A thief stole a MacBook Pro laptop from a music store. No arrests have been made.

Burglars broke into a basement of a building and stole a Dewalt Palm Sander. No arrests have been made.

ROBBERIES

Grand Street
A man’s laptop, iPod, computer adapter and laundry bag were stolen from a common area of his apartment in the early afternoon. There were no signs of forced entry. He has several roommates that have access to that area. No arrests have been made.

Broadway
A thug walked up to a 13-year old boy walking home after school. He said “Give me your kick (Sidekick cell phone) before I cut you. You want me to follow you home?” and showed the boy a knife. The boy walked across the street and the thug followed him and repeated his request. The boy ran into a store, and the thug followed him a slapped him. The store’s owner then told the thug to leave and the boy reported that he was almost robbed. No arrests have been made.

A robber ran up to a woman, pushed her down and ran off with her cell phone. No arrests have been made.

Grand Street
A robber stole an envelope containing $1,138 from a woman’s bag while she was on line at a grocery store at around 10:30 in the morning. No arrests have been made.

Graham Avenue
A thief rode past a man on a bicycle, snatched his diamond-cut gold chain and pedaled away. No arrests have been made.

Bushwick Avenue
Two burglars walked into a bodega, displayed a gun and said, “Yo, nobody move, everybody down.” The clerk said that there is a camera and the two burglars started to argue. During their argument the clerk called 911 and the would-be criminals ran away. No arrests have been made.

Keap Street
In another botched robbery attempt, a thug wearing a turban showed a gun to a pedestrian and demanded money. The pedestrian yelled, and the thug ran away. No arrests have been made.

J-train at Hewes Street
A man was talking on the phone with his wife next to the train’s door. A thug came up to him from behind, put a gun to his head, took his wallet from his back-pocket and said, “Run your s**t.” The man said no, and the thug bashed him with his gun on his head. Then the man handed over his cell phone and ran out of the train on Lorimer Street station. No arrests have been made.

Driggs Avenue
A thief approached a young man, showed him a gun and demanded his property. He then hit him on the head with the gun, took his money and ran away. No arrests have been made.

Clymer Street
Two armed and masked robbers attacked a Chinese food delivery guy in the staircase of a building and stole $270, a bag of food and a Snapple. No arrests have been made.

FRAUD

A woman fell victim to an internet money wiring scam. She responded to a job offer that required her to deposit a check and wire money to several individuals to buy supplies. The check for $2,998 was fraudulent. No arrests have been made.

A man dropped his credit card. He later found out that a fraudster found it and purchased $516.59 worth of goods with it. No arrests have been made.

6/12 (occurred several times previously)
A con artist from American Club Network Admission, an unknown organization, has been calling a 78-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease and demanding money. The victim “donated” $2,750. No arrests have been made.

A 2002 Ford Windstar was stolen from its parking spot sometime during the afternoon. No arrests have been made.

ASSAULTS

Meserole Avenue
A group of thugs attacked a young girl walking to the train. They repeatedly kicked, slapped and punched her. The girl does not know why she was attacked, nor does she know any of her attackers. No arrests have been made.

Morgan Avenue
A man hit his brother on the arm with a chair during an argument over a cell phone and money. The victim said he fears for his life, his wife and his other sibling. The assailant was arrested.

N 11th Street
Burglars broke into an empty apartment and stole a laptop. No arrests have been made.

Freeman Street
A woman came home late at night and saw an uninvited guest, an unfamiliar lady, crouching in the corner of her bedroom. The woman screamed, “Who the h**l are you?” The lady got up, nonchalantly walked to the other room to get her jacket and left, without stealing anything. The apartment’s resident said her former roommate lost her key and she suspects her surprise visitor found it. No arrests have been made.

Burglars broke into a parked car and stole several leather bucket seats, a dashboard and a steering wheel. No arrests have been made.

Richardson Street
Around 3:30 pm, a burglar climbed into the bedroom window of an apartment, stole a laptop, and was preparing to climb out. The apartment’s resident, who happened to be home at the time, caught him in the act and demanded he return her laptop. He refused, climbed out and ran away with the laptop. Police arrived and arrested him. The laptop was returned to its owner.

A woman was playing in a band at Social Club. After the performance she went to get her bag and realized that someone has taken. She tried to look for it, but in vain. No arrests have been made.

Two women’s purses were stolen at a bar as they looked away for a moment. No arrests have been made.

FRAUD

Jewel Street
A woman’s bank account was accessed and $3,728 was stolen. She said that the computer from which the banking was conducted has a virus. No arrests have been made.

6/5 (occurred on 2/12)
A con artist issued several bad checks to a company in the sum of 180, 1065, 30,000. He also stole $31,245 worth of merchandise from the company. He was arrested.

AUTO THEFT

Russell Street
A Suzuki G60 motorcycle was stolen from its parking spot some time between 7 and 1:30 pm. No arrests have been made.
