Victim Critical After McCarren Attack

Police have made an arrest following a brutal attack in McCarren Park early Tuesday, October 2nd. Meanwhile, the victim remains in very critical condition with head injuries at Bellevue Hospital.

The man believed to be homeless and in his late 30s to early 40s, managed to make it one block before collapsing on Bedford Avenue near Manhattan Avenue. When police arrived, he was unconscious, bleeding from the head. Cops followed the trail of blood into the park, where they discovered a broken beer bottle in a puddle of blood.

By Wednesday, October 3rd, 22 year old Disney Cortes had been arrested for attempted murder. The investigation is still ongoing.
