Principal for a day Councilmember Stephen Levin
Beginning in January 2011, Williamsburg Prep High School invited various members of the community to serve as principal for a day. These community figures met with administration, students and parents and shared wisdom, experience and advice.

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Councilman Steve Levin, IS 318 Principal Fred Rubino and Keith Hicks, Executive Director of the Greenpoint YMCA, were the first to participate. Assemblyman Joseph Lentol, Councilwoman Diana Reyna and many more including Greenpoint Gazette publisher Jeff Mann will be visiting Williamsburg Prep in the near future.

Williamsburg Prep received an A on its progress report for the past three years and was ranked as the third highest performing high school in New York City for the past two years. Principal Michael Shadrick plans to continue to involve the community in the growth of Williamsburg Prep.
