Get Out of Greenpoint on the MTA’s Most Reliable Train!

The Village Voice hosts a rocking free afternoon/evening of indie rock, hip hop, and dj sets featuring Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Beach House, Islands, and a bunch of other emerging artists that will, at the very least, blow your mind with their eclectic sounds. BWAC Outdoor Sculpture Show (Brooklyn Bridge Park, noon-6)

If you’ve never been to a BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists’ Coalition) art show, you are missing out on some of the Bk’s finest. The show, entitled “Relative Environment”, challenged local artists to reflect on the environment of the park, and its place in the larger structure of our city, through the medium of art. Go to The Cloisters (Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan)

Looming high above the Hudson on Manhattan’s tippy top is Fort Tryon Park, a true escape for city dwellers looking to vacation in their own five boroughs. The Cloisters, which is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, focuses specifically on art and sculpture from the European Middle Ages. Hop Stop Says: G-to-E-to-A uptown.
